Star Gardens officially opened its doors Oct. 2nd in Middletown. This little nursery offers a wide selection of plant material suitable to Lake county. It has stocked lots of deer resistant plants with Lake County residents in mind. The nursery carries a diverse range of 4 inch perennials along with annuals, vegetables, a variety of trees, flowering shrubs, seasonal bulbs and seeds.  The nursery offers organic amendments and supplies along with original hanging baskets and custom potting.

The proprietor Tanya Striedieck, is a California Certified Nursery Professional. She holds certificates in horticulture from Santa Rosa Junior College. She has years of nursery and landscape experience. She is fulfilling her dream of having a nursery close to home and hopes that local residents will appreciate the value of the knowledge and service that independent retail nurseries provide their customers.

Tanya’s passion for gardening is evident and she adds: “I feel that I can provide much better customer service than the big chain stores. I can provide help with gardening challenges, share gardening tips and technology in addition to offering the wide variety of plants in stock.”

The nursery is located one b lock east of Highway 29 at the south end of Washington. St. Turn east on Callayomi (opposite the library), go one very short block, turn right on Washington. Calls for directions or availability are welcome. (707)987-0998.
